Potos

Potos is a village in the south of the isle. Formerly it was a village for fishers. Now it is used from Theologos as a harbor. Theologos is a village in the interior of the isle. There are no exact details about the foundation of the village. But it was built just after Theologos. Potos is a nice village for vacation which didn't lose his charm, because of the tourists. Here you will find not only one beach: There is one Beach with shingles and sand, then there is another one beach only with sand. This beach is and called Alexandria beach goes directly to the hotel near Alexandra Village. After all there also is an bay with shingles. The deep blue sea is as clear as everywhere around Thassos. You can see the ground of the deeper places. If the weather is clear it is possible to see the holy mountain Athos, who stands in front of Potos.

Psilli Ammos is a tiny village about 5 km south-east from Potos. It is likely that Psilli Ammos was build because of the tourist. They were coming to the beach of Psilli Ammos to take a bath. Now Psilli Ammos is a nice quiet and comfortable village with many activities for the beach. It is just unique. The beach is about 250 m long. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the isle, because of his finest white sand. The shore is shallow. It is ideal for water games. Here you don't need any shoes to go in the water, because here there are no stones or pebbles inside. On the side of the beach there are some plateaus made out of stone. There are just wonderful to get some sun. If you need some shadow in the middle of the day, visit one of the bars. Here you don't only shadow, but also some cold drinks. At the beach from Psilli Ammos you can do water sport like: water ski, paragliding, surfing and lots of other things. Every now and then a seller goes by to sell wonderful fresh cookies and pastries.
