Prinos
You find Prinos northwest from Thassos, interior. Prinos is very important since the discovery of oil. There belong four other settlements to Prinos. They are called: Neos Prinos, Skala Prinos, Micros Prinos and Megalos Prinos. Micros and Megalos Prinos are also called small and big Kasaviti. Prinos was called Kasaviti long ago. As in Limenaria and Potos the people lived in huts. Because of this the place was called Kasaviti. Prin means "before". Translated Prinos means something like "old town". Prinos is one of the biggest villages on the isle. Here the inhabitants were celebrating every February 07th the saint's day of saint Johann and saint Georgios. Other festivals of saint's day are in June the 30th for the apostles and on July the 27th. for saint Panteleimon. The people are living here from the business with the tourists, but also from the growing of olive trees and the breeding of bees.
