Rachoni

Rachoni lays about 4 km away from the coast in the inner island. Believing the legend, the first inhabitants settled down, as a blind Bulgarian woman kneed down at a river source, and sprinkled water in her eyes. Beginning from this moment she could see again. Above the river source the church Panagia was built. Round the church open channels are leading the water down till Skala Rachoni. The first inhabitants settled down round the church. All over the years, Rachoni kept his originality. One Reason is, that not many tourist are coming to Rachoni. In this quiet village, you can experience the Greek lifestyle. Men are standing in cafe bars and the smell of the typical Greek food is coming out of the kitchens.
