Skala Marion, which is also known under the name Skala Maries, lays at the westcoast of Thassos after three
small gulfs.
This village was the harbour of Maries long ago.
Then there were only fishers and sailors living here.
Skala Marion means as much as the way or the door to the town Maries in the mountains.

Today it is only a small village which is living from fishing and tourists.
The village was built in the hollow at the fett of the mountains.
It is not like all the other villages on the isle on the ground level.
