In the visitor.
However some of theese features are affectable by settings in the Browser or by a firewall.
In case the website shows you a note about JavaScript or Referer, small Browser settings might be neccessary to
have optimal results. Normally it isn't neccessary, because most Browsers have the right settings after installing.
We created this helping page to make correcting the settings easier for you. Basicly the website works without
theese settings. You can read examples about the results without the settings below.
We tried to make the explainations as easy as possible, to make it easy for thoose of you who aren't familiar with
the technical details of the computers. The solutions are explained step by step and should be possible for everyone.
The help file is splitted in:

Javascript
Referer
Java
Notes
Sure you've heared about security problems regarding Microsoft's Internet Explorer. But there are some really good alternates
to the IE available!
Why you don't try Opera or
Mozilla?
After some training you sure don't want to go back to the Internet Explorer!
Opera e.g. can enable/disable Javascript, Referer and Java with a simple click in a drop down menu. The handling with
mouse gestures, downloadable skins and a very much better web security makes Opera to one of the best Browsers!
Because Opera is Shareware you will have a advertising banner in the menu bar. But it isn't a problem. If you
like Opera, you sure will register it and the banner is gone!
Javascript
Function:
With Javascript functions can be handled directly in your Browser. An example would be the dynamic menu on the left.
By default Javascript is enabled. If nobody did changes on your computer, you don't have to change something.
Problems with disabled Javascript:
- Without Javascript the dynamic menu doesn't work. We programmed it in that way, that it is opened by default without
Javascript. So you can handle the website but it don't look so nice.
- The link 'Domains' doesn't work.
- In the large view of a photo, a click to the image results in a reload of the main page insteed of a simple 'history-back'
You see, all problems are of cosmetical nature. We now describe how to enable Javascript using the Internet Explorer.
Solution:
- Open the Internet Explorer
- Choose 'Extras' from the menu bar.
- Choose Internet Options.
- Click on Security.
- Click on Settings
|
|
- Scrolldown the list until the point 'Scripting'.
- Enable the three options as shown on the image.
- Close all windows with 'OK'
- Javascript now is enabled.

Referer
Function:
The Browser tells the webserver, what was the previous visited website. Using this feature, the webmaster can create better statistics.
It is abolutely no security risk for the visitor. But some firewalls do block this information. Some Browsers can disable this, too.
Problems with disabled Referer:
- If a large view of an photo got linked directly by e.g. a search engine, we cannot say, if the query comes from inside or outside.
So the link back to the main page will be hardcodet, because it would lead back to the search engine instead of our mainpage.
- The print view works similar: It checks the Referer and shows a note if it can't be identified as an internal link.
The problems are only cosmetical too. We show you how to disable this silly functions using the Norton Firewall.
The manufacturer enabled this blocking by default.
Solution:
- Open the Norton Firewall
- Click at Data protection
- Click at Settings. A new tab opens
|
|
- Click at User defined
- Disble the option 'Browser data protection enable'
- Close all windows.

Java
Function:
Java Applets are programs working on your computer after download. Microsoft stopped supporting Java with Windows XP. So we
use Java only at our chat room.
Problems with disabled Java:
The only problem is, that the chat doesn't work
Solution:
- Open the chat using our menu.
- Follow the link to download the Java Runtime
- Install this program and follow the notes on the screen
